Hello, my name is Mercedez Morris, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. I obtained a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Health Sciences at California State University of East Bay. As well as a M.S. in Counseling Psychology with a dual focus in Marriage and Family Therapy along with Professional Clinical Counseling from California Baptist University.
I have 5 years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis therapy working with children, adolescents, and young adults as a Registered Behavioral Technician providing individualized treatment plans, goals and being able to identify behaviors/progress while collecting data on programs for each client. I have been able to collaborate with care teams and community resources to ensure client progress weekly. I am experienced in working with children/adolescents, individuals, couples, and families while implementing intake sessions, consult cases, treatment planning, and case conceptualization through in person and telehealth appointments.
I am certified in premarital/pre-engagement counseling, and I have a large skill set in work with depression (post-partum), anxiety, eating disorders, relationship dynamics, self-esteem, trauma, and cultural/ethnic communities. I also have a background of faith-integrated therapy techniques and interventions.
My goal as a therapist is for my clients to have a safe environment to externally process thoughts and feelings that may aid in their progression of healing. It is often hard for many to take this step in life, and I strive to be there as that foundation is formed.
