Our Anger Management Program is a court approved intervention program designed to address the stressors of life that lead to violence. This program is for offenders only. The goal of the program is to provide individuals with the tools needed to reduce anger and improve coping skills. The skills obtained in this program help assist individuals in making changes in ones life to stop violence.
Anger Management is appropriate for individuals who have been abusive or violent to others (generally not spouses or significant others) such as stranger violence.
Novell & Novell Counseling Services is a court mandated Anger Management Program. This group varies as to number of sessions from 16 weeks to 52 weeks based on court orders.
The program will focus on such topics as: (but not limited to)
- How to understand your anger
- Ways to express anger in healthy, appropriate, and beneficial ways
- How to decrease conflict
- Understanding and recognizing triggers
- Destructive consequences of aggressive behavior

NOTE: An orientation process MUST be conducted prior to enrollment of our court ordered programs. The orientation process will vary from case to case. Please contact our office to obtain the orientation instructions that will meet your needs. (We recommend having your referral and or court order on hand when contacting the office.)
Orientation Fee: The orientation fee of $50 is due prior to scheduling your orientation appointment.
Class Fee: $60 per class session.
During the course of the Anger Management Program, quarterly status/progress reports will be issued and provided to the designated official assigned to your case, upon your signed written consent.
Voluntary Enrollment: If you have not been ordered, and have an interest in attending the Anger Management Program please contact the office to schedule a meeting with Ben Novell, MS, LMFT, LPCC. Mr. Novell will assess if the group setting would be suitable for the issue or concern that you wish to address. Non-Court ordered intake assessments are longer in duration to assure the client is appropriate for the group best served. The fee for this assessment is $150 and will be 50 minutes in length. Recommendations for the appropriate interventions will be discussed. If appropriate for the Anger Management Program no additional fees are charged to enroll in the program.
