Hello, my name is Alexis Tektonopoulos. I’m an Associate Marriage Family Therapist. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from California State University San Marcos, and a Master’s of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University.
During my studies, I have gained knowledge and experience from residential inpatient/ outpatient mental health services as well as therapeutic sessions at a nonprofit organization.
I strive to create a safe space for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings while using evidence-based techniques to help guide them toward healing and growth. I have an appreciation for the unique backgrounds and identities of my clients and a deep commitment to understanding how culture, race, ethnicity, and other factors influence their experiences. I believe in creating an inclusive space where all clients feel valued and respected. Therapy can be a tough place to start for individuals, families, and couples so I believe therapy is more of a collaboration between the client(s) and myself to see how we can best support your growth and needs.
I like to incorporate techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) among many others to help my clients. I take a very Systemic approach to get a better understanding of my clients to best navigate into the deeper issues that may be impacting them.
My goal as a therapist is to do more for my clients and find the motivation from within themselves and build upon it in a way that truly works best for them. I believe everyone deserves a voice and deserves to feel seen in this world.
