Hello and welcome. My name is Brittany Lynn. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in working with children, ages Toddler to Teen, and their families. I believe every individual deserves to be respected no matter their developmental age or stage in life. With respect a trusting relationship can be created and with acceptance, individual potential can be discovered.
I completed my Bachler’s Degree in the Art of Psychology at Pepperdine University in Malibu California. Following that, I completed my Masters of Science Degree in Counseling with the Marriage, Child and Family option at California State University, Long Beach. During my course work and internship, I was able to utilize variety of therapy techniques and strategies. Art Therapy at Camarillo State Hospital and then CBT, Person Centered, Reality Therapy, Adlerian and Family Systems Therapy were used to address issues including but not limited to, learning disorders, eating disorders, ADHD, oppositional behavior, bereavement, post-traumatic stress, organizational skills and time management. I worked with individuals, and groups in a school setting with the children and families in the Bellflower Unified School District. The accomplishments I made during this time fueled my desire to continue my professional passion and pursue a career in guidance, counsel and education.
It is the field of education that prevailed early on in my professional path. I have worked in the private sector as a teacher and educator for the last twelve years. Ten of the twelve years have been specific to preschool and elementary school age children and their families. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to service such a diverse community in a safe and nurturing educational environment. I am excited to continue my professional journey outside the classroom.
It is with the love and support of my family that I am encouraged to continue to grow as both a professional and an individual. They are a blessing, my motivation and my heart.
“The great thing in this world is not so much where you stand, as it is in what direction you are moving.” ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes
