Hello, my name is Michelle Martinez and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I completed the Graduate Program at California Baptist University earning my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from California Baptist University as well. I completed my training hours for graduation in the Mental Health Department for Murrieta Valley School District.
In this experience I had the opportunity to work with children, pre-teens, and teenagers through individual and group settings. I have always been interested in finding out about the unique pieces that make up a person’s personality, as well as the impact that relationships have on a person’s well-being. Throughout my personal and professional experience, I have found a passion for helping others.
I understand that sometimes life stressors can have a great impact on a person causing them to feel distress in multiple avenues of their lives. As a therapist, I believe in creating a safe environment to walk alongside a person through these challenging times. In my training hours I built a strong understanding and practical application of Dialectical Behavior Therapy; however, I see the importance of tailoring my approach to what would be most effective for my client’s progress.
Through my work with a client, I hope to foster the catalyst of change within a person so that they may see the great impact they have in this process. It is my goal to combine my passion and interests in understanding and helping others to assist people in how they relate to their thoughts and feelings so that they may ultimately live a life that they find fulfilling.
