Hello, and welcome.
My name is Miranda Hunter, and I am an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT #149718) providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. I am EMDR trained and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to support healing and growth.
I completed my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy, which equipped me with a comprehensive clinical framework for working with individuals across different stages of life. My training emphasizes understanding how emotional experiences, relationships, and life circumstances intersect and influence overall well-being.
I particularly enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults, and often support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, major life changes, relationship patterns, boundary setting, emotional regulation, grief and loss, identity development, people-pleasing tendencies, academic and occupational stress, self-esteem concerns, trauma, and questions of meaning or purpose. I also work with clients around family dynamics, cultural values, and first-generation experiences.
Before entering my current role, I gained experience supporting children and young adults in both school-based and community settings, where I focused on strengthening socio-emotional skills and providing support during periods of transition. These experiences reinforced my belief that meaningful change occurs in environments that feel safe, respectful, and collaborative.
In my work as a therapist, I strive to foster a welcoming and affirming space where clients feel understood and supported. I am passionate about reducing mental health stigma, particularly within marginalized communities, and helping individuals develop insight, resilience, and deeper connections with themselves and others.
I am committed to ongoing professional development through supervision, continued training, and education, ensuring that my work remains thoughtful, ethical, and responsive to clients’ needs.
Outside of the therapy space, I prioritize balance and self-care. I enjoy staying active, exploring local shops, spending quality time with loved ones, and taking intentional moments to recharge. Nurturing meaningful relationships in my own life supports how I show up with presence and authenticity in my clinical work.
“It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path, and to proceed.”— Ram Dass
